Volunteers are a crucial part of the survival of our organization.  People like you enable us to accomplish so much more to help the thousands of animals we receive every year.

The minimum requirements to become a MHS volunteer:

-Commit to volunteer at least 6 hours per month for a minimum of six months, or as specified by your volunteer job description.

- You must be 17 years or older to volunteer at our shelter location and those younger than 17 are welcomed to volunteer at our offsite events. For a list of our Off Site Events please click here.

- If you are a student that needs to complete your community service hours, please follow this link.

All volunteers that will work at the shelter location or anyone who will be at an offsite event that may handle the animals or have contact with the public must attend the Volunteer Orientation Class.
